Atlas Copco ITB-P Handheld Cordless Power tool wins the 2023 Red Dot Design Award
Germany’s Red Dot Award, one of the world’s top three industrial design awards along with Germany’s “iF Design Award” and the United States’ “IDEA Design Award,” has announced its 2023 winners. The ITB-P handheld cordless power tool, a member of the Atlas Copco Industrial Tools Tensor IxB series, was honored for its innovation that “successfully combines aesthetics with practical applications.”

As a power tool designed for challenging positions in industries such as electric vehicles and aircraft manufacturing, the ITB-P was born from customer feedback – Atlas Copco listened carefully to the operators of door and aircraft structure assembly, prioritised the importance of tool safety from the beginning of product development. With safety and ease of operation as the goal in the design phase, this high-precision and traceable tightening tool was tailored for them to bring users a fast, flexible, reliable, accurate and ergonomic experience.

The ITB-P is lighter, smaller and easier to operate, which reduces the pressure on the operator’s wrist. The integrated display further improves the user experience, improves performance, efficiency and quality, and greatly reduces the risk of human error.
I am very proud to be recognized again by this Outstanding Design Award. Thanks to the entire project, product and development team for making this possible. They continue to push the limits of technology while doing their best for the operators who use our tools around the world. This award is a recognition of our commitment to consistently deliver outstanding solutions to our customers by combining design, technology and functionality in industrial manufacturing tools.”

“Combining design, technology and function into industrial manufacturing tools is a form of artistic expression. This award is a testament to what we stand for and our commitment to ‘continuous innovation’.”
